Abandon Reason Episode 4 features two new contributors – the first is Kate Glavey, who released the spookily beautiful album “In Winter” last year. Two of the songs on the album contain some little snippets of recordings made in the car park with voice through microphone and battery-powered amp and bowed cymbal. The Burrows song ‘Turncoat’ is also played on this episode.
The second new contributor is Jorge Boehringer, an American sound artist and composer now living and working in Prague. Jorge’s part comes from the last gig held in the car park (from which Raising Holy Sparks slow-singing recording came in the last episode) and is a melodious and rhythmic loop-based piece using viola, pedals and two amps. This gig became part of Jorge’s recent European tour.
Contributors previously featured are Brigid Power Ryce, David Colohan, Vicky Langan and Darugaries, each bringing their own unique textures to the mix.
