Christine Dwyer Hickey is an award-winning novelist and short story writer. She is the author of the Dublin Trilogy, The Dancer, The Gambler and the Gatemaker (1995- 2000) which spans three generations of a Dublin family from 1913-1956. Her bestselling novel Tatty was chosen as one of the 50 Irish Books of the Decade, longlisted for the Orange Prize and shortlisted for the Hughes & Hughes Irish Novel of the Year Award. Her novel Last Train from Liguriawas also a bestseller (Atlantic Books UK) and was nominated for the Prix L’Européen de Littérature. Her latest novel The Cold Eye of Heaven (Atlantic Books UK) has already received wide critical acclaim. She was shortlisted for the Hughes & Hughes Irish Book of the Year, 2011 and won the Irish Kerry Group Book of the Year in June 2012.
